Have you ever choose a tent? All of us want to get a tent that will provide our family with years of comfortable camping. Do you agree with me? So when you're choosing a camping tent, what basic camping tent features will you consider?
First of all, sizes. The size of a tent is normally described by the maximum number of people that can sleep inside, or its number of 'berths'. Sounds simple doesn't it? But it needs more than a little thought. Remember you'll probably need space in your tent for living, not just for sleeping. Here, my suggestion is to choose large camping tents than the actual numbers of go camping. As smaller tents can't offer standing headroom however it's essential to be able to stand up straight in the morning, even just to pull your trousers on. Lol....
Secondly, it is the material. Tents can be made of cotton canvas, nylon or polyester with or without a fabric coating. Poles can be of aluminium, steel or composite materials. Most tents that made of PU coated polyester, is 100% waterproof. Nylon is both lightweight and extremely durable. Although polyester is slightly heavier than nylon, it doesn't expand when wet and is more tear resistant. For canvas tents, they are very durable, but are also very heavy. Choose what you need.
Thirdly, the shape. The shape is also significant. Will it be a dome? A tunnel? A frame tent? Will it be a hybrid?
Fourthly, the durability. Be sure that your family camping tent has sturdy poles, securely fastened grommets, double-sewn seams reinforced with nylon tape, and heavy duty, non-rusting zippers. Test the zippers; they should open and close freely, and should not catch or bind up on the tent fabric.
Next, framework. A tent with a flexible framework (one that can bend without ripping and breaking) is an essential feature. Choose a tent with sturdy, good quality poles.
Finally, warranty. A truly well-made tent will have a life-time warranty. Remember to save the company information when you buy a new tent so that you can contact them if necessary.
